Examples¶
Five notebooks in the repository's examples/
folder, each runnable top to bottom (pip install "pysnape[plot]" for the figures):
| Notebook | What it shows | Run time |
|---|---|---|
| Quickstart | a damped oscillator from 5 % noise: the fit, derivatives without differencing, a bootstrap | under a minute |
| 2-D wave | the paper's 2-D wave from noisy snapshots, no initial or boundary conditions given | about a minute |
| Five-storey building | a building shaken at the roof, recorded by accelerometers with 10 % noise: the stiffness and damping of every storey, and the floors' displacements recovered | under a minute |
| Burgers | the published PDE-FIND Burgers data with 5 % noise | about two minutes |
| Van der Pol at 50 % noise | noise half the size of the signal: why differentiating the data fails, and how the error grows over noise levels and draws | about four minutes |
The test suite runs every notebook (pytest -m examples), so they stay in step with the code.
